Connect-two: A Contact Improvisation Workshop with Adrianna
Kausi Theatre , Kausi Theater, Guna Kamdev Marg, Kathmandu, Nepal 17:30 PM onwards Friday
This contact improv workshop is a frame for exploration of the mechanics of touch, movement, and skin as the common elements that open new possibilities of perceiving and experiencing each other.
Grounded in the contact improvisation principles of shared touch, momentum, gravity, and weight, the workshop builds a safe space to play, think differently about ways of experiencing movement and the dancing body, and to search the boundaries of what is unfamiliar to us.
We want this workshop to be open to a mixed ability group of participants so we request you to share widely with friends who have wanted to participate in movement workshops but haven't been able to do so because of physical constraints. The workshop will take place on the 3rd and 4th floors of the Kausi Theater building but we will be around to help you reach the designated floors.

About Contact Improvisation
Contact Improvisation is an open-ended exploration of the kinesthetic possibilities of bodies moving with physical contact. Sometimes wild and athletic, sometimes quiet and meditative, it is a form that is open to all bodies and enquiring minds. This improvised dance form is based on the communication between two moving bodies that are in physical contact and their combined relationship to the physical laws that govern their
motion—gravity, momentum, inertia. The body learns to release excess muscular tension and abandon a certain quality of control, which brings it to experience the flow of
movement. It brings forth a physical/emotional truth about a shared moment of movement and leaves the dancers informed, centered, and enlivened.
